Schimanski plot
Six years after his departure as commissioner of the criminal investigation department in Duisburg, the police ask Horst Schimanski for help. As a result, he regularly leaves his houseboat in Belgium and his steady girlfriend Marie-Claire to catch the bad guys. Sometimes he does so against the will of the police or is simply hired as a private detective or bodyguard. After the death of his partner Thanner, Schimanski is assisted in his investigations by the young policeman Tobias Schrader.
