Obituary plot

Twenty-four-year-old Elvira Clancy loves her job writing obituaries but feels unfulfilled. When her newspaper struggles, her boss tells her he can't keep her on the payroll and she's being paid by the obituary. When she "accidentally" kills a troublesome employee in town, she discovers an untapped thirst for blood. She delights in using increasingly devious methods to kill the town's unpleasant inhabitants while making them look like accidents.
