Griselda Blanco, a smart and ambitious Colombian businesswoman and mother who was the mastermind behind one of the largest drug cartels. With a deadly combination of unexpected cruelty and charm, Blanco managed to combine her business interests with her family life in Miami in the 1970s and 1980s, earning her the nickname 'The Cocaine Godmother'.

Na 3 afleveringen is het voor mij niet overtuigend. Griselda en vele anderen doen hun best maar het is het vaak net niet. En serieus een scene waarbij de lijfwacht van een boss zich tegen de boss keert, echt dat heb ik te vaak gezien. De switch wordt naderhand ook niet goed uitgelegd.

After 3 episodes it's not convincing to me.

Griselda and many others do their best, but often it just doesn't work out.

And seriously, a scene where a boss's bodyguard turns against the boss, I've seen that too many times. The switch is also not properly explained afterwards.

RTL nieuws schrijft: "Neflix-kijkers omver geblazen door nieuwe serie met Sofia Vergara. De actrice speelt de rol van de angstaanjagende drugsbarones Griselda Blanco en doet dit zó goed, dat ze kijkers de stuipen op het lijf jaagt". Zou best kunnen maar ik ben niet omver geblazen, in tegendeel, ik ben eigenlijk wel teleur gesteld. Na de eerste 2 afleveringen had ik nog de hoop dat het wat zou worden maar het is van "klits klats klandere, van de ene dooie naar de andere" zonder enige nuance wordt het verhaal er doorheen geramd "met grote stappen snel thuis" Er wordt hier en daar wel een vergelijking gemaakt met de serie van Pablo Escobar, volkomen onterecht, bekijk die 74 (!) afleveringen en zie dat de vergelijking volkomen mank gaat. Eigenlijk wel jammer dat ze in Griselda het hele verhaal in 6 afleveringen hebben gestopt, het is te veel en daardoor te oppervlakkig, voor mij 2.5 sterretjes.

That could well be the case, but I'm not blown away, on the contrary, I'm actually disappointed.

After the first 2 episodes I still had the hope that it would be something, but it is like "klits klats klandere, from one dead person to the other" without any nuance the story is rammed through "with big steps home quickly"

Here and there a comparison is made with Pablo Escobar's series, completely unjustified, watch those 74 (!) episodes and see that the comparison is completely flawed.

It's actually a shame that they packed the entire story into 6 episodes in Griselda, it's too much and therefore too superficial, 2.5 stars for me.

Matige serie waarbij vooral de zwakke regie en het belabberde camerawerk een storende factor is. Bijna elke scene is donker of in tegenlicht opgenomen, waardoor de mimiek van de acteurs - als die er al is- niet goed tot zijn recht komt. Verder wordt het verhaal onsamenhangend verteld. Ik geef een voorbeeld: een agente achtervolgt in haar eentje een belangrijke drugsbaron. Als kijker denk je, nu gaat het spannend worden. Maar ineens wordt die scene afgekapt, pas later krijgen we te zien hoe de agente wordt gefeliciteerd door haar collega's met de arrestatie van de drugsdealer. Het hele verhaal hangt op die manier als los zand aan elkaar. Waarom toch al die rare sprongen in het verhaal, afgekapte scenes, onduidelijkheden? Niet aanbevolen.

Mediocre series where the weak direction and lousy camera work are a disturbing factor. Almost every scene is shot in the dark or in backlight, which means that the facial expressions of the actors - if there are any - do not come into their own. Furthermore, the story is told incoherently. Let me give an example: a police officer single-handedly pursues an important drug lord. As a viewer you think, now it's going to be exciting. But suddenly that scene is cut off, only later do we see the officer being congratulated by her colleagues on the arrest of the drug dealer. The whole story hangs together like loose sand. Why all those strange jumps in the story, cut scenes, ambiguities? Not recommended.
