Emperor of Ocean Park plot

The quiet life of Talcott Garland, a law professor, is turned upside down by the death of his father, Judge Oliver Garland, who apparently died of a heart attack. The nature of the judge's death is questioned by Talcott's sister, Mariah, a former journalist and inveterate conspiracy theorist. She believes the judge, a black Supreme Court nominee, has fallen victim to foul play.
