Excellent fourth and allegedly last season, in which certain longer-running plot lines are neatly rounded off and, of course, a series of new gruesome murders present themselves. Things are again ingeniously put together and it is often very exciting, although the stretch seems to have gone a bit towards the end. Fortunately, the fun characters continuously ensure that everything remains worthwhile. Good thing the series is coming to an end with this.

This last season (from what I understand there will be no fifth) I found slightly less than the previous three. The reason for this is that some individuals are not elaborated far enough. Take, for example, the old lady with the camper and her role in the whole. She still crawls with her grandson behind the PC and suddenly she has disappeared from the scene. Also, the further course around the thieving sisters is not worked out, just like the story behind their stepfather. All in all, it remains a season with plenty of surprises, especially at the end. In many of these kinds of films and series I am annoyed by the improbabilities, the unrealistic moments and stupid decisions. At Bron/Broen, and that applies to all four seasons, I was not bothered by that at all.
Stopping at the peak (say the makers) and they did just in time with this fourth season.

Just watched the whole series. The first two are significantly better than the last, but they are still of great quality. With Saga Norén, the makers have created a haunting character. Kudos to Sofia Helin's acting, as well as the character development they let her go through.
Indeed, they stopped at the peak, but they do leave room for a return... If it ever happens again, I'm looking forward to it.
