Almost Paradise plot

Alex Walker is a former US DEA agent who was forced into early retirement. A combination of his partner's betrayal and a life-threatening battle with hypertension have sent him as far from madness as possible: on a small tropical island in the Philippine archipelago where he runs the gift shop at the island's luxury resort hotel. However, the resort attracts wealthy, powerful and sometimes criminal individuals from all over the world. Despite his efforts to start a peaceful new life, he finds himself withdrawn into the dangerous criminal world with deadly situations.
