The Thin Blue Line plot

The Thin Blue Line is about everyday life at a police station in the fictional town of Gasforth, near London. This small agency is run by Raymond Fowler, who desperately tries to maintain his relationship with receptionist Patricia Dawkins. Meanwhile, his clumsy staff and the equally stupid CID department ensure that life in Gasforth never really goes as planned.

The Thin Blue Line season 1

The Thin Blue Line is a fine British series, which I have seen several times. The humor is mainly in the many misunderstandings, caused by the clumsy staff of Fowler, and the much too arrogant CID department. The cast is in top form: Atkinson is fun as the leader of the irregular mess, but the other actors also provide quite a few comic dialogues and situations. Especially the inimitable duo Grim & Kray is a lot of fun. Lots of successful jokes and actually no slow moments or annoying episodes. Season 1 is even better than the sequel.
