This season doesn't convince me much yet. I saw the British version once and it had more humor as far as I remember. Still, I've had a good laugh a few times, mainly at Dwight. This has a lot of potential. On to the next!

This first season only has 6 episodes but they are strong.

We get to know the different characters and the dynamics that play between them.

The manager of the office is an idiot, racist and ignorant ignoramus but with a certain love for his job.

All kinds of everyday things are shown in a funny way.

There is a camera crew making a report about the office because the extras often address the camera directly.

Super funny annoying.

Well, this is a lot less good than the original British TV series and Carell is clearly no Gervais. Steve tries to imitate Ricky, but the Americans are just less subtle in the humor department. Most of the text and jokes are almost directly copied, but are delivered with less finesse. The actors in the supporting roles are also less good, except perhaps Dwight. Although he is less crazy than Gareth, I still laughed a few times at his idiocy. A poor result, but still better than most of what the Americans have produced in the field of comedy series, and that says a lot about the quality of the original British series.
