The Angry Video Game Nerd plot
An avid player of classic computer games, known as "the nerd" or AVGN for convenience, takes you back in time to introduce you to the worst video game failures that traumatized him in his youth. From his hobby cellar, he discusses one or more performances per game or per theme per episode. He uses spicy language, consumes alcohol to cope with his frustrations and ingeniously destroys the game material when he can no longer bear the pain.

As with 'Nostalgia Critic', something got lost when James Rolfe got a little carried away and shifted the focus to more ambitious projects. This 'franchise' actually didn't need 'The Angry Videogame Nerd' to become a character with its own storylines and hassle around it. James Rolfe simply put on his glasses, put on a white jacket and looked grumpy as he played old fluff games. It's not really deep, but it's infectious when AVGN goes wild on barely playable games and you also see in-game footage of historically bad programming. dr. Jekyll and Mr. I've seen Hyde, Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest, Bible Games and The Power Glove several times.
