Bing is going to make something of his life. He wants to be the breadwinner for his childhood sweetheart Bernadette and his young son Joe. There's only one problem: Bing thinks he can do this by gambling a lot. If there is money to bet, he does so, which often causes him to lose. After that, he always regrets until the next opportunity to gamble presents itself. Despite all his shortcomings, Bernadette loves him. And as for Joe; there is always Grandpa George to cheer him up at football games when his father is at the bookies. However, when Bing's gambling behavior gets out of hand, he loses a significant amount of money. The only thing he is in danger of losing now is his family. Suddenly his whole world is in danger. How can he get back everything he lost?
