Ramy plot

Ramy works on a failing cyber start-up with his old friend Steve, who has muscular dystrophy and has no specific filters when it comes to what he says or asks his friend to do. Ramy lives in New Jersey and is a son of the first generation of Egyptian immigrants who struggle to reconcile with the parts of his religion he has focused on: regular prayer, observance of Ramadan, abstaining from drugs and alcohol. . The rules he's less happy about usually involve sex and his reluctance to settle down with a woman his fairly traditional parents would approve.
