One Day at a Time plot

Ann Romano is a divorced mother who moves from Logansport, Indiana, to Indianapolis with her daughters Julie and Barbara. Ann has a hard time with her role as a mother because she does not know how to offer her daughters freedoms as she has never known this before. She starts a relationship with lawyer David Kane, but it remains to be seen how long this can last. Then there's Dwayne Schneider, the rather odd overseer of the house, who comes around every now and then.
