Milliardærøya plot
Julie Lange is the head of Marlax, a large salmon producer in a small coastal community in Norway. She is about to stage a hostile takeover of a local competitor in order to become the world's largest salmon producer. As a result, two families become sworn enemies in the global salmon industry, pitting old traditions against new.

Billionaire Island sounds like just another reality show, but it is a six-part Norwegian comedy drama. CEO Julie Lange (Trine Wiggen, Wisting) tries to take over the rival family business of Gjert Meyer (Svein Roger Karlsen - Heimebane), to become the largest fish farm in Europe. Billionaire Island is a dramedy full of intrigue, soapy twists and salmon.
Creators Anne Bjørnstad and Eilif Skodvin – both responsible for Lilyhammer and Beforeigners – have been watching Succession closely. And also State of Happiness, the gripping Norwegian family drama about the rise of the oil industry. Billionaire Island stays in shallow water and doesn’t take itself too seriously. It delivers a fresh drama about a dysfunctional family full of resentment, revenge and dry humor. In Billionaire Island, this combination works very well.
