Joey plot

Spin-off of the sitcom Friends. The series revolves around one of six friends from the main series, Joey Tribbiani, who moves to Hollywood hoping for a breakthrough in the acting world. Saying goodbye to a time when his friends were his family, he now seizes the opportunity to make his own family his friends. He is reunited with his sensitive sister Gina, a strong and attractive hairdresser. Joey moves in with his 20-year-old cousin and graduating student Michael, Gina's son. Although Joey is not exactly intelligent, he manages to compensate for this with his social skills. This makes him the best new friend his cousin could have hoped for.

Op zich vond ik dat  Matt LeBlanc en Drea de Matteo wel chemie met elkaar hadden, maar het bleek niet voldoende voor een echte opvolger van 'Friends'. Al ben ik nooit echt een fan van die hit-serie geweest, dus ik had ook niet een enorme band met Joey.

In itself I thought that Matt LeBlanc and Drea de Matteo did have chemistry with each other, but it turned out not to be enough for a real successor to 'Friends'. Although I've never really been a fan of that hit series, so I didn't have a huge connection with Joey either.

Die band die jullie niet met Friends hebben, heb ik wel. Het is mijn favoriete serie ooit (wie had dat gedacht.. ), maar deze serie kon mij totaal niet bekoren. Ik kan er niet zoveel zinnigs meer over zeggen, het is iets te lang geleden dat ik het heb gezien, maar wel wat dat ik het niveau zeer triest vond. Nu ben ik sowieso van mening dat geen enkel personage van Friends interessant genoeg is om een aparte show van te maken. De personages zijn alleen maar interessant als ze samen zijn, juist door de totaal verschillende karakters die bij elkaar zijn gebracht. Ik zou van geen enkel personage een aparte serie echt waarderen denk ik. Ze zijn los van elkaar gewoon bij lange na niet zo interessant. Niets ten nadele van de cast overigens, want van wat ik me nog herinner vond ik dat nog wel oké aan de serie. Verder komt het nog niet eens in de buurt van Friends. Mogelijk dat de serie aantrekkelijk is voor mensen die weinig met Friends hadden en/of het vrijwel niet keken, maar fans van de serie zoals ik, kunnen dit denk ik beter overslaan.

I do have that bond you don't have with Friends. It is my favorite series ever (who would have thought.. ), but this series did not appeal to me at all. I can't say much more sensible about it, it's been a little too long since I've seen it, but what I thought was the level very sad.

Now I'm of the opinion that no character from Friends is interesting enough to make a separate show. The characters are only interesting when they are together, precisely because of the completely different characters that have been brought together. I don't think I would really appreciate a separate series for any character. They're just not nearly all that interesting on their own.

Nothing to the detriment of the cast, by the way, because from what I remember, I thought that was okay about the series. Other than that, it doesn't even come close to Friends. It is possible that the series is attractive to people who had little to do with Friends and/or hardly watched it, but fans of the series like me, I think it is better to skip this one.

Ai wat is dit slecht zeg! Friends was een top-serie, maar de vrienden zijn enkel leuk als ze samenspelen en niet op hun eentje een spin-off krijgen. Joey heeft zijn vrienden nodig om grappig te zijn, en niet de zoutloze tegenspelers in deze serie. Geen wonder dat er slechts twee seizoenen werden gemaakt!

Oh how bad is this! Friends was a top series, but the friends are only fun if they play together and don't get a spin-off on their own. Joey needs his friends to be funny, not the salty co-stars in this series. No wonder only two seasons were made!
