Funny Woman plot

Barbara leaves sexist Blackpool for London at the start of the swinging sixties, where she is soon discovered by an impresario who arranges a role for her in a sitcom. The team she works with sees her talent, but the broadcast boss has his doubts about this unknown name with a silly-sounding accent. What is decisive, however, is the audience, which falls for her en masse. Now that she's becoming famous, she's going to have some problems, but what bothers Barbara the most is how men waltz over women.
