Atypical is a comedy about Sam (Keir Gilchrist). Sam is autistic. In this final season (S4), Sam has plans for a long journey. The characters in Atypical are almost all warm and human. Stripped of most of the sharp edges (and also of the necessary realism), the story is told in a light-hearted way of a family that, despite all the shortcomings, invests a lot of love in each other. This offers four seasons - which hardly differ in quality - top entertainment. Without the weight of the real problems surrounding autism, this is a nice, light-hearted and hopeful series.

It's a good thing that the screenwriters of this series decided to end it after the 4th season because, like many series, it doesn't get better as the seasons progress.

What's more, this series really goes downhill.

They are repetitive and the inspiration is clear.

The script starts creaking and squeaking all over the place, it gets really childish and even the soundtrack deteriorates.

But it was a refreshing, meritorious series.

Stopped just a little too late.
