Amen plot

Deacon Ernest Frye is the head of the First Community Church of Philadelphia and he goes to great lengths to keep his parish under his tight control. However, his new assistant Reuben Gregory has very different ideas about this. The parishioners realize that the best way is the middle way and they constantly try to pit the two men against each other.
