30 Minuten season 1

For me the episode that stands out: Fout in '45, with Ederveen as Elsbeth, a woman who cares for her demented mother and in which it soon becomes clear that she was wrong about the war.
The whole mise-en-scène, the funny almost inconspicuous details, the puns, like Elsbeth who slips up and talks about 'hiding' in the attic instead of 'diving up' in the attic. Also very hilarious that VVD election poster on the window hahaha.....
Elsbeth, who cuts out coffee stamps at her mother's bedside while her mother counts them; a brilliant performance by Albert Mol, played so realistically that it seems real. She may be cared for by her daughter, but her daughter often behaves sadistically: deliberately turning off the television when her mother is watching, tipping over a can of stamps so that her mother has to count again... Incidentally, her mother turns out to be less forgetful than her daughter would have us believe: "They said to me: Your daughter has a good heart. It should just hang boiled on her back."
The neighbor's cat that she chases out of her garden in a half-hysterical manner.
What Ederveen also does very well is that quasi-imbecile look in his eyes when there is a moment of silence, such as the moment when his mother starts humming a song.
Also fantastic is that monologue behind the Singer sewing machine and she confesses that she was a Kraut whore and was in love with a German SS man called Johan Blank...
"You didn't know, did you... YOU DIDN'T KNOW!!"
That characters can be developed so beautifully in just 30 minutes.
