Willow plot

Series set decades after the events of the original film 'Willow'. Here, all-new characters are introduced to the already familiar enchanted realm of fairies, the two-headed Eborsisk monsters, and of course, once again, the hero Willow Ufgood. An aspiring wizard from a village in Nelwyn and a little girl destined to unite the various realms once accomplished the goal of destroying an evil queen and banishing the dark forces. Now the adventure continues in the magical world where wizards, trolls, and other mystical creatures live harmoniously together. A group of unlikely heroes must now embark on a perilous quest, heading to places far from their home, where they must defy their own inner demons and work together to save their world.

Willow from 1988 is 'holy ground' for me. As a child of 8 I saw it in the cinema at the time and it is without a doubt my favorite film from my childhood. That said, I wasn't really looking forward to a sequel. The story had a good ending and to continue it more than 30 years later, does not always work out well. And Willow doesn't have nearly the fanbase of a Star Wars, so I wonder if Disney is pumping as much money into this as a Star Wars series.

After 2 episodes it is still too early to write off Willow as a series, but she has not yet managed to approach the magic of the film. The new characters are uninteresting, partly due to the weak writing. Maybe it will get even better in the next episodes. To be honest, seeing Warwick Davis and Joanne Whalley again, both of whom returned for this series, made me happy.

Visually there is also something to criticize about the series, but it must be said that the locations are well chosen.

I just wonder who the hell chose to end each episode with a vague pop song. That doesn't fit the atmosphere of this series at all!

What a bad series Disney has delivered. There is no getting through. Slower than slow... The characters are unfortunately poorly cast, the story is paper thin, the humor, which is not fun, goes too far and the music is to howl. Often it doesn't fit the scenes. I cringed at episode 6. That's why I gave a low grade.
