Watchmen plot
Watchmen is set in an alternate, contemporary reality in the United States. Masked vigilantes have been banned by the government for their violent methods. Despite this, some are rallying to start a revolution, while others are out to stop it before it's too late. When one of them is murdered, they start an investigation into the culprit. The big question, though, is who's keeping an eye on the vigilantes?

Excellent, self-assured HBO miniseries that sort of builds on the events of Zack Snyder's 2008 film of the same name. Things may get off to a slow start and take a while for characters and plotlines to really engage, but once they get going there's no stopping it. Complex, exciting and intriguing. Great acting too; Jeremy Irons in particular is very, very good.
