Wanpanman plot

The story is set in the fictional Japanese metropolis City Z. This world is bursting with the strange monsters that appear for no reason and cause disasters. Saitama, the main character, is an exceptionally strong hero who can easily defeat the monsters or other enemies in one fell swoop. But because of his exceptional strength, Saitama gets bored with his strength and constantly tries to find stronger opponents to challenge him. In his adventures, he meets new friends, enemies, and his own apprentice, the cyborg Genos, and joins the Heroes Association to gain fame for his fight against evil. Despite defeating many powerful monsters that even the highest-rated members of the Heroes Association can't defeat, Saitama receives little respect. Most people look down on him for his dull appearance, and some accuse him of being a fake. Only a small number of people recognize his incredible talent and modesty towards others.

Grossly overrated. Probably mainly because the young guys see the humor and fights from series like Dragon Ball Z, Naruto, Bleach and One Piece reduced to just twelve episodes. Content-wise, it's a predictable, adolescent affair that exchanges build-up and suspense for spamming crazy monsters on the screen. Saitama is the anime brother of Jerommeke: when he arrives at the fight, it usually ends in one fell swoop. This self-limiting concept is artfully solved by placing the motives and motives of supporting characters extra in the foreground. And that's secretly cool. Only I had expected a really good series after the overwhelming jubilation from anime-loving circles.

funny.

The concept is fun, luckily they stick to 12 episodes (although I think there will be a second series?). It certainly didn't have to be that much more, because the humor was a bit out at the end. Fortunately, the last episode focused mainly on the action.

Animation is fun at times, but not that overwhelming. Main character is nice, but one note. That's the whole idea of the series, but certainly during the filler halfway through it doesn't come into its own. The characters around him aren't that special either, but they are entertaining.

Watching an episode every now and then was certainly not a punishment, but I certainly didn't think it was genius. It's all a bit too predictable and easy for that. But it is way better than the majority of the anime series, contains enough individuality and originality to finish the 12 episodes neatly.

3.5*
