Nicky Chen, a young Chinese-American woman, decides to drop out of college because of a thirty-something dilemma and makes a life-changing trip to a remote monastery in China. But when she returns to her hometown, she discovers that her village has been overrun by crime and corruption. Nicky decides to use her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice. Meanwhile, she also searches for the hit man who killed her Shaolin mentor and is now targeting her.
