Chiang Fu-sheng is a struggling gangster who is up to his neck in debt and battling a midlife crisis. By chance, he becomes embroiled in a violent conflict fueled by a mysterious organization known as the Fixers. Operating in the shadows among ordinary citizens and based in the centuries-old Qinghe Temple, the Fixers discreetly resolve difficult problems within both the underworld and the established order. The Qinghe Temple takes Chiang under its wing and pairs him with Hsueh Chiu-nan, an arrogant scion of second-generation politicians whose personality is diametrically opposed to Chiang's.
