I Woke Up a Vampire plot

Carmie Henley discovers on her thirteenth birthday that she suddenly has supernatural powers. With the help of her best friend Kev, a comic book enthusiast, she discovers that she is a Vampling: half human, half vampire. Carmie, who is adopted, is now on a journey to discover the who, what, when, where and how of herself. That's a lot for a kid juggling puberty, the high school musical, and a Van Helsing behind her. Carmie is in a unique position: she wants to be seen and she needs to hide.
