Infamia plot
Gita, a 17-year-old girl with a Roma background, has lived in the United Kingdom for many years. Now she and her family have moved back to their native Poland. After returning, Gita tries to find herself and discovers her passions. At the same time, she tries to live the life of a normal seventeen year old. But when she falls in love, Gita will have to balance the modern world of teenagers with traditional family rules.

Choose for yourself or for the family. With a wonderful video clip-like style, 'Infamia' (2023) tells the resistance of the Roma girl Gita (Zofia Jastrzebska) when she is threatened with an arranged marriage. She wants to be free, make music, have control over her own body and mind and, above all, not be put into boxes. At the same time, she is also stuck between Polish anti-gypsyism and the difficulty for young Roma to develop themselves. The older Tagar (Kamil Piotrowski) seems to offer her a way out to escape her lonely situation, but men always disappoint. 'Infamia' (2023) is especially strong because of the magnetic Gita as a lively whirlwind who increasingly pushes the boundaries to escape low expectations. Just the way she dresses and makes herself up in that unique mix of contemporary and traditional. Authentic and yet true to her own background. No one can take Gita's pride away from her.
