Corrupt politicians, frenzied nationalists and other belligerent forces are constantly jeopardizing the thin layer of peace between neighboring countries Ostania and Westalis. Despite their plots, the renowned spy and master of disguise, Twilight, carries out one dangerous assignment after another in the hope that no child will have to experience the horrors of war. In a town in Ostania, he goes undercover as Loid Forger, a esteemed psychiatrist. His true intention is to gather intelligence about the politician-to-be Donovan Desmond. In doing so, Loid gets help from Yor Forger and Anya, who play his wife and daughter respectively. However, Loid has no idea that one is a hired killer and the other a telepath.
