The Letter for the King season 1

Letter to the king is the series after the famous book Letter for the king by Tonke Dragt. It had already been made into a film in 2008, but that was not entirely to the liking of lovers of the book. They hoped that the series would do the book more justice, but unfortunately that is not true. Letter to the king just took the premise and names of the characters from the book and turned it into a LOTR, GoT-esque fantasy story with lots of hocus pocus and mambo jambo. The result is not bad at all, but you have to see it separately from the book and then it is much better than the film that was a poor version of the book. It is especially nice that Tiuri played by Amir Wilson is now really a squire who has only moderate knightly qualities where the Tiuri from the film played by Yannick van der Velde was an annoying, arrogant bastard that easily adult men, who were trained knights, boss could. Totally unrealistic and also took a lot of tension away from that movie. The uncertainty of Tiuri in the series ensures that in addition to an exciting knight's story, it is also a coming of age story, which also made the book so beautiful and compelling. I also liked the fact that the role of squire Piak in the story was more or less taken over by Lavinia played by Andy Serki's daughter Ruby, because that way it was easier to see it as a completely different story. Serkis himself also has a part as the father of Lavinia. Letter to the King is simply a well-crafted series with an original exciting story that seems a little familiar here and there.
