In a stately building from 1900, which serves as a boarding school, nine young people live together under the supervision of caretaker Victor. When newcomer Nienke has to spend a night in the attic of the house, she makes a bizarre discovery: the house has a history, a great mystery that nobody knows anything about. While each is in his own way busy with school, friends, loves and growing up, the nine go in search of the hidden history of the house. And they should have left them alone.
