The Storyteller plot
"When people recorded their past in fairy tales, explained the present with them and predicted the future with fairy tales, the best place by the fire was kept free for ... the fairy tale teller". With these words, the narrator of ancient folktales introduces himself at the beginning of each episode. The old fairy tale teller sits with his dog, to whom he tells his stories, by the fireplace of an old castle. In some episodes, both also participate in the story. The series is based on existing but lesser-known stories from Europe and Russia. A striking detail is that the number three plays an important role in all stories.
