Beck plot
Inspector Martin Beck works for the police in Stockholm, Sweden. Together with the eccentric Gunvald Larsson, they work on many murder cases. The defective social structure of the city plays a major role in this. For example, they encounter cases related to the drug world, they have to work with the secret service and they encounter smugglers. But also their own private lives are often involved in their work, so the pressure is very high.

This Beck series is the next Beck series after the six films from 1993-1994 in which Gösta Ekman played the role of Commissioner Martin Beck. I think Peter Haber who plays the role of Beck in this series comes across a bit better. I thought the special character Gunvald was portrayed more strongly than Beck in both the older six films and in this series. Great first season.

Like a good old friend, who you see again after a while. That's how I experienced Beck's S7. Actually, my love for series started with Beck in the first place. And Wallander of course. Based on the characters of Sjöwall & Wahlöö, Beck with Peter Haber provides serial entertainment from 1997 onwards. And how. The social criticism may have faded into the background in S7, but the good structure and intriguing storylines are by no means. The four episodes in feature film format are exciting, dramatic and the acting is excellent. The melancholy is never far away; the scenes with neighbor Grannen on the balcony are famous. And as it goes: with an old friendship come imperfection and mildness.
