New Kids on the Block plot
The series follows the five loiterers Richard Batsbak, Rikkert Biemans, Gerrie van Boven, Barrie Butsers and Robbie Schuurmans in the North Brabant village of Maaskantje. They behave in the style of the happy hardcore culture, drink daily cans of Schultenbräu beer, eat snacks at the local snack bar 't Pleintje, especially bakpao sandwiches, and they drive around their village in their green Opel Manta.

I actually thought it was funny. I think I was 13 when this season was on. A few friends watched it and no one else really. Then the movies came out and everyone started imitating it all the time. The fun soon wore off. I don't know if I would find this funny if it had come out in 2015.

Bizarrely bad. Timing of the jokes is off. The slapstick is just mean and obnoxious, nowhere comical. Characters are extremely unsympathetic instead of being nice characters. Unnecessary sex and violence for the effect and not because it just adds something. Strange how entire tribes ran away with this rubbish at the time.
