Koka Björn plot
Koka Björn is set in the far north of Sweden in 1852. The Preacher Laestadius is an avid botanist, and with Jussi, a runaway Sami boy, in tow, he undertakes long botanical journeys full of philosophical discussions, teaching Jussi all about plants and nature. One day, a maid disappears deep in the forest. When she is found dead, the locals suspect a predatory bear is on the loose. The policeman quickly offers a reward for the bear's capture, but the Preacher sees other clues that point to a far more serious killer.

Opinions on this series are divided, but I never had a dull moment with this wonderful series. I thought the acting was excellent, with some truly outstanding actors in the cast.
Certainly not for everyone, I understand that some people drop out, but I was really captivated...
I also read that some say it's something for Midsomer Murders fans, so for fans of series on BBC First, I completely disagree. This is much better made, better acted, and there are also far fewer mistakes.
