A very American documentary series that rushes point by point through largely familiar material. The creators are acutely aware of what they are creating and deliver a very monotonous, yet nevertheless captivating series. It's excitingly paced and intelligently crafted to keep even the most uninterested viewers engaged. The downside is that few new revelations are made, leaving the material covered largely familiar territory. The positive aspect is that you're always captivated, and that's certainly what the people behind the editing were aiming for. In that respect, American Manhunt undoubtedly succeeds.
