Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities plot
Anthology series in which all eight episodes, each a unique story, are related in some way to the classic horror genre, with a shocking content. Two episodes are based on short stories written by the famous director and Oscar winner Guillermo del Toro, also the creative developer of this series; the rest are original works by other filmmakers. This delivers a diverse collection of sinister stories, each with a personal introduction from Del Toro himself.

After watching all 8 episodes, I experienced a clear change of genre and atmosphere, especially from episode 5 'Pickman's Model' there was significantly more dark fantasy involved and presented in a way that I really liked. Only I thought the last episode 'The Murmuring' was the least of the series and I actually thought it was a lot less, a disappointing end to this, for the rest, top anthology horror series. I will therefore 'decrease' my full marks to a 9/10.

I thought this was far from wonderful. Unpredictable omnibus in which no story really comes through. It never really gets scary, but kitsch does.

I watched it, I thought the first episode was still reasonable, but then the second with that huge rat, then I had had enough. I also didn't find the next episodes anything special, maybe my expectations were too high because most of the reviews I found were almost all very positive. To be honest I found it rather childish, sorry nothing for me....
