La Vita Che Volevi tells the story of Gloria, a transgender woman who thinks she has found her happiness in picturesque Lecce. But her peaceful life is disrupted when Marina, an old friend from her university days in Naples, suddenly shows up. Marina brings her children and also makes a surprise announcement, forcing Gloria to face her past and decide what she really wants in life.
