German Crime Story: Gefesselt plot
Inspired by one of Germany's most notorious serial killers, the so-called "acid barrel killer". In the early 1980s and 1990s, Raik Doormann sowed fear in the Hamburg region when he brutally kidnapped, tortured and murdered several women in his own nuclear bunker. Clues to his actions are first found by the victim's guardian and later homicide detective Nela Langenbeck. However, during this time, women within the police force are seen more as secretaries than as investigators. Nela therefore initially receives no cooperation, but against all expectations she eventually tracks down Doormann.
