Orphan Black plot

Sarah has always been an outcast. She has no parents, no family. She lives on the street and earns money by stealing. One day she sees a young woman on the train platform who looks exactly like her. When the woman commits suicide by jumping in front of the oncoming train, Sarah is in shock. But then she sees an opportunity, a way out of her problems. Sarah assumes the identity of the deceased woman. Suddenly she has a life, a house, money and even a boyfriend. But then she makes a shocking discovery: she and the deceased young woman are clones. Sarah becomes embroiled in a deadly conspiracy where she cannot trust anyone. Are there more like them?

Bravo, wat een mooi slotstuk op een sterke serie! Vond ook het laatste half uur van de laatste aflevering fijn als afsluiter! Dan natuurlijk mijn favoriete karakter uit de serie nog even noemen: Helena

Bravo, what a beautiful conclusion to a strong series! Also liked the last half hour of the last episode as a closing!

Geweldige serie, de meest verslavende die ik ken. Oprhan Black lijkt in de eerste afleveringen van seizoen 1 een thriller te zijn maar al gauw is er van een afgebakend genre geen sprake meer en bestrijkt het alle elementen die je maar kan wensen: drama, actie, science-fiction, romantiek, komedie, en dan ben ik nog niet uitputtend. De kracht schuilt, zoals bij elke topserie, in de personages. Ik zit vooral in team Sarah, wat een chick. Maslany speelt voortreffelijk, waarbij vooral alle clone-swaps heerlijk zijn om te zien (verdiep je vooral ook even in het technische aspect erachter, want de scenes met meerdere clones tegelijk in beeld zijn veel complexer dan je zou denken en grensverleggend dankzij de technodolly). De religieuze fanatiekelingen van seizoen 2 en dat eiland van seizoen 5 vond ik net iets minder, maar daar staan talloze prachtige momenten tegenover (het einde van seizoen 2, 3, 5, of het oppakken van de backstory van Beth in seizoen 4, en wat ik ook nooit zal vergeten is de shock van Sarah die vastgebonden in de douche gered wordt door Helena, weergaloos geacteerd.) Samen met Chuck mijn favoriete serie.

Great series, the most addictive I know. Oprhan Black seems to be a thriller in the first episodes of season 1 but soon it is no longer a defined genre and it covers all the elements you could wish for: drama, action, science- fiction, romance, comedy, not to mention exhaustive. The strength lies, as with any top series, in the characters. I'm mainly on team Sarah, what a chick. Maslany plays superbly, where especially all clone swaps are wonderful to see (do a little deeper into the technical aspect behind it, because the scenes with several clones are shown at the same time are much more complex than you might think and groundbreaking thanks to the technodolly). I didn't like the religious fanatics of season 2 and that island of season 5, but there are plenty of wonderful moments in return (the end of season 2, 3, 5, or picking up the backstory of Beth[/spoiler ] in season 4, and what I will also never forget is the shock of Sarah being tied up in the shower rescued by Helena, superbly acted.) Along with Chuck my favorite series.
