Season 1 was already strong, but this season is even better. In addition, there are some exceptionally good episodes in between, with Golden Frog Time as the highlight. A script that you can make a movie out of, but then put in one episode, with an enormous tempo.
You shouldn't take the series too seriously, but the script, however improbable at times, is very smooth and sharp and the characters are great. Giamatti and Lewis are evenly matched and do a fantastic job. What makes their characters so interesting is playing with good and bad, and being in a gray area that the script writers enjoy. The supporting roles, Siff and Akerman in the lead, are also very strong.
