North and South (1986)

North and South plot

One comes from an industrial family in the North, the other from a family of plantation owners in the South. Together they study at the military academy at West Point and, thanks to their close friendship, they survive the war between Mexico and America. But their band takes it even harder. The issues dividing North and South also take a heavy toll on their friendship.
