Fringe plot

The series revolves around FBI agent Olivia Dunham, the deranged professor Dr. Walter Bishop and his son Peter, who are tasked with some strange things happening around the world. All these strange events are apparently linked in one way or another: there is clearly a 'pattern' that runs across everything. The pattern can also be linked to Massive Dynamic, a company that holds a number of patents on a number of new technologies and conducts some mysterious research. All business revolves around Fringe science, a branch of science that is highly speculative and controversial. Examples of this branch of science are levitation, telepathy and invisibility.

Fijne serie die met de aflevering beter wordt. Fringe kent een leuke mix waarin de personages bovennatuurlijke gebeurtenissen proberen op te lossen door ouderwets politie speurwerk in samenwerking met minder conventionele middelen. De wisselwerking tussen de cast is fantastisch om te zien en is wat de serie voor een groot gedeelte maakt. Jon Noble steekt daar met kop en schouders bovenuit als excentrieke professor. Ook leuk zijn de verschillende gebeurtenissen en ook de manier waarop enige gruwelijke aspecten worden getoond. Daarnaast zijn de verhaallijnen ook nog eens erg goed. Een erg goed opgebouwd eerste seizoen die ondanks een aantal zwakkere afleveringen in het begin zich goed heeft hersteld.

Great series that gets better with each episode.

Fringe has a fun mix in which the characters try to solve supernatural events through old-fashioned police detective work in conjunction with less conventional means. The interaction between the cast is fantastic to see and is what makes the series a big part. Jon Noble stands head and shoulders above that as an eccentric professor. Also nice are the different events and also the way in which some horrific aspects are shown. The story lines are also very good. A very well built first season that has recovered well despite a number of weaker episodes in the beginning.
