Het Verhaal van Nederland plot

'The Story of the Netherlands' shows us in ten episodes how the Netherlands came into being. The series was recorded at Archeological Open Air Museum Swifterkamp and Nature Park Lelystad. In 'The Story of the Netherlands' we see how our country has become what it is today. We are really going on a journey through time from prehistoric times to the present. Along the way, we see the great all-important events, persons and objects that have shaped the Netherlands. From the first inhabitants through the Golden Age and the Second World War to the country we are today. The program focuses on a number of questions; Where do we come from? What history do we share? And how did we become who we are? Through dramatized scenes from our history and personal stories, we see the great historical events and turning points. A number of experts, historians, experts and archaeologists from all imaginable museums and institutions in the Netherlands also support the story by explaining the most interesting periods in Dutch history.

Geschiedenis is een van mijn grote hobby's. Logischerwijs vond ik dit dus echt helemaal geweldig. Ik heb genoten van elke aflevering en vond de aanpak (met Daan Schuurmans in cutscenes en tijdens het verhaal) erg gaaf, eens een keer wat anders dan een tam verhaal. Ik hoop serieus dat ze dit uitbreiden met een 2e seizoen!

History is one of my great hobbies. Logically, I absolutely loved this. I enjoyed every episode and found the approach (with Daan Schuurmans in cutscenes and during the story) very cool, something different than a tame story for once.

I seriously hope they expand this with a 2nd season!
