Downton Abbey plot

Set in England during the pre-World War I years, the story of Downton Abbey paints a portrait of a complex community. Although the estate has been home to the noble Crawleys for many generations, it is also the place where the servants - within a strict hierarchy - spend their lives, with all their big dreams and small sides. Their motives are also very diverse. While some are loyal to Downton's family and lifestyle, others view the estate as an intermediate stage to another, better job, or as a place to find love or adventure.

Now that you as a viewer pretty much know how the hares run on the estate, it turns out that this season is based a little too much on soapy sentimentality, even though everything remains very well made.
