Cidade dos Homens plot

Life in Rio de Janeiro is tough, although it depends on what environment you are born in. Several groups of young people are followed as they try to survive in the Brazilian favelas. Central are street boys Laranjinha and Acerola. They are each other's best friends, live in a notorious slum and face drug dealers and violence on a daily basis.
