This season I found slightly less than the first season and that has to do with Lila in particular. What a bloody annoying character that is. From the first moment she opens her mouth, I have completely lost her. Still, the writers have done a good job with her, some tense moments and that she is crazy was built up very well and calmly.
The story in this season was almost as strong as the first season, sometimes even more exciting than the first season. Especially when Doakes is locked up in the house the tension is sometimes to die for. Fortunately, memory is not very good and I did not know how it would end. In a way I was disappointed, just as this season progressed I got more and more sympathy for his character, where I could appreciate him a lot less in the first season. Would have preferred that he would somehow be convicted and try to do something in a later season. This isn't the case though, and I can't remember really missing that in seasons to come.
The acting is pretty similar to the first season. Hall is still performing excellently, but King also played his part very well this season. It remains a very believable series and that is mainly due to the acting performances of the cast.

Season 1 was already very popular, but this second season was even stronger. The tension was to cut towards the end that it could almost have been a series finale. As you can read above, Lila was a really annoying character. Fortunately, her character does play an essential role in the story. The side characters are much more interesting this time around and Dexter himself becomes a more complex character.
