Matthew Perry has tragically passed away at the age of 54.
At 4.07pm local time, Los Angeles Police responded to a 911 call at the actor's home. According to The LA Times and TMZ, Perry died by drowning in a hot tub or jacuzzi.
There was no foul play involved.
The news comes as a devastating blow to his family, friends and the millions of fans Friends, one of the greatest sitcoms in history.
Perry became a comedy legend thanks to his role as the sharp-witted Chandler Bing, who became an iconic character. His memoir, Friends, Lovers and the Big Terrible Thing, was released towards the end of last year.
In it, he detailed his troubles with drug addiction, alcoholism and depression.
His death is still clearly raw for his Friends co-stars as none of them have spoken about his death yet, but tributes have flooded in from other areas.

Maggie Wheeler, who played Janice in Friends, wrote on Instagram: "What a loss.The world will miss you Mathew Perry . The joy you brought to so many in your too short lifetime will live on. I feel so very blessed by every creative moment we shared."
His pal Selma Blair wrote: "My oldest boy friend. All of us loved Matthew Perry, and I did especially. Every day. I loved him unconditionally. And he me. And I’m broken. Broken hearted. Sweet dreams Matty. Sweet dreams."
Paget Brewster played Chandler's love interest Kathy in season four: “He was lovely to me on Friends and every time I saw him in the decades after. Please read his book. It was his legacy to help. He won’t rest in peace though. He’s already too busy making everyone laugh up there.”
