Marvel have worked themselves into a corner after the decision to fire Jonathan Majors.
Over the last couple of years, Majors has been placed as the primary villain in the multiverse saga within the Marvel Cinematic Universe. His appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania was followed up by a major plot device in the second season of Loki.
The fifth Avengers movie was previously called Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, though insiders are calling that movie Avengers 5 now.
Majors' future in the MCU was called into question when he was arrested on suspicions of domestic abuse.
This week, he was found guilty of harassing and attacking his former girlfriend, British choreographer Grace Jabbari back in March.
The official charges are "assault by recklessly causing physical injury, as well as harassment, and acquitted him of a different assault charge and aggravated harassment."
He will be sentenced in February and could face up to a year in prison.
So, what next for Marvel?
Replace Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror
As Kang has thousands of different variants in the MCU, it is not out of the question that Marvel may attempt to simply replace Majors as Kang with another actor. However, Variety previously reported that some stars view the character as a bit of a poison chalice and aren't willing to step into the drama.
Fans have been dream casting who they want, though, with names like Denzel Washington, John David Washington, John Boyega and yes...even Terrence Howard.
Boyega even previously responded to a fan request for him to replace Kang with a cute gif of Donkey from Shrek shaking his head.
