George Clooney has teased a return as Danny Ocean in the Ocean's Eleven franchise.
The original Ocean's 11, released in 1960, starred five of the Rat Pack; Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Peter Lawford, and Joey Bishop.
In 2001, a reboot was released and it proved to be one of the most star-studded movies of the noughties, with Clooney leading the cast as Danny Ocean alongside Pitt, Julia Roberts, Damon, Elliott Gould, Andy Garcia, Carl Reiner, Bernie Mac, Don Cheadle and Casey Affleck among others.
It was a huge critical and commercial success, grossing $450 million worldwide from a budget of $85m.
Two sequels were produced, Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen before the franchise was revamped with an all-female crew in 2016 with Ocean's Eight.
Clooney says a script has actually been produced for Ocean's Fourteen.
"We have a really good script for another Oceans now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script," he revealed to Uproxx while promoting The Boys in the Boat.
Ocean's Eleven prequel
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling are set to star in a prequel to Ocean's Eleven.
Jay Roach, most famous for his work on the Austin Powers trilogy and Meet the Parents, is slated to direct, and he will also receive a production credit alongside Delirious Media's Michelle Graham.
The prequel will take place in the 1960s which is a deviation from the timeline of the four most recent entries in the franchise. The new movie will focus on the parents of Danny and Debbie Ocean, played by Robbie and Gosling. They will teach their kids how to steal from the rich which, of course, will set them up for a life of crime which we see in the modern movies.
Tongue-in-cheek, Clooney says it was only natural that Robbie and Gosling would play his parents.
“Margot Robbie’s my mother? I’ve always thought that," he told Variety. " And Ryan Gosling is my father, and when you think about it, it makes sense. Truly."
