Black Panther: Wakanda Forever producer has explained why the movie does not have a post-credits scene.
Over the course of the emergence of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, post-credits scenes have become just as anticipated as the features themselves. During a screening, viewers are encouraged to wait until the credits have finished to see a tease of another Marvel property.
Wakanda Forever is notable for the absence of the star of the first movie, Chadwick Boseman, who tragically passed away after losing his battle with cancer.
The sequel to Black Panther will focus on the grief of Wakanda and the grief of T'Challa's family members.
Due to its more serious and sombre tone, Nate Moore says it would not be appropriate for a post-credits teaser, despite rumours that Doctor Doom might appear.
"No, I think the subject matter of the film was such that it didn't feel appropriate to have, then, a stinger. Much like Endgame’ felt like an emotional experience that you also didn't need a stinger at the end of this. This felt like we just wanted to tell the story as it was conceived without an added bonus. So, unfortunately there isn't an end credits .”
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever stars Leticia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Angela Bassett, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, Dominique Thorne, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta and Martin Freeman.
The movie is not released worldwide until November, but reviews have come in from early screenings. Those lucky enough to be present have been overwhelmingly positive in their assessments.
