It is looking increasingly likely that Aaron-Taylor Johnson will be named as the next James Bond.
Following Daniel Craig's last outing as 007 in No Time to Die, and even before that, the casting rumour mill went into overdrive, with fans and news outlets mentioning various names who could potentially play Bond.
This week, it was reported that Taylor-Johnson had been offered the role, according to The Sun.
“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back," a source told the publication.
“As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
Last year, it was reported that Taylor-Johnson impressed Bond producers and that he had even donned the tuxedo to film his version of the iconic gun barrel sequence.
Like every actor linked with the role, the Kick-Ass star has been asked numerous times about taking on the role, and he previously said of the rumours:
"It's flattering," he told Vanity Fair.
"You can have something really positive (written about you), but you can also have something really negative that can circulate. You just want to stay in your lane, stay grounded, stay around the people that you love and love you back, and stay in that world.
"The moment you start believing the s**t people say about you, you've lost your f**king mind. You've lost it."
Those comments were a while ago, but it seems even then he was very happy to be in the conversation.
