Whispering Smith Speaks plot

"SOMETHING NEW IN EXCITEMENT!"

Gordon Harrington Jr. is the son of a railway manager who wants to get to know the trade from the bottom up. In doing so, he gets to know Nan Roberts, who offers a piece of land to the railways for sale without knowing how valuable that land is. Harrington finds out that the soil contains precious minerals. The railroads are trying to push the sale through withholding this information.
